Comments:  1906 cent mintage is the second highest for the entire series, with only 1907 mintage being the highest.   Collectors should always seek out the most attractive and well struck examples in order to maintain the goal of an investment grade collection.  Collectors should be competent in grading and not soley rely on grading service opinions, since grading standards have fallen.  

The number of die varieties for 1906 is extensive and is predominantly composed of repunched dates, with variety 17 being the best.  There are several misplaced digit varieties for the year.  Variety 18 with the misplaced digits in the denticles and class II doubled die reverse is highly collectible, though the doubled die reverse is minor.
