Rotated View Of Lower Loop Initial Date Impression
Reverse Diagnostics
Clash Mark Through The C Of CENT
Obverse 83 is identified by date placement at RE and date repunching
that features initial date impressions to the south within the upper
loop and a wide initial date impression to the southwest within the
lower loop of the 6.
Reverse AAAG is observed with a clash mark through the C of CENT.
Comments: The artifact
within the lower loop of the 6 seems to be an initial date impression
positioned to the southwest with respect to the final date placement.
Raised diagonal lines are visible only within the upper and lower
loop of the 6, which indicate that the Mint attempted to efface the
impressions from the face of the working die.
