Obverse 78 is identified by date placement at RH, raised area in the
denticles below the 0 of the date and date repunching that features
initial date impressions to the north and south within the lower loop
of the 6. Obverse 78 has developed moderately heavy to heavy
die flow lines.
Reverse AAAB is observed with die lines within the lower right wreath
and is in a similar die state as Obverse 78, with the advancement of
moderately heavy to heavy die flow lines.
Comments: Obverse
78 exhibits two separate date repunchings, with one initial date
impression slightly to the north within the lower loop of the 6 and
another to the south at a wider distance from the primary date
placement compared to the other. The wider placed initial
date impression was most likely rotated a small degree counter clockwise with
respect to the final date placement.
Variety 79 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the
above plate coin during mid May 2018 for inclusion in this book based
on the Obverse 78 date repunching.
