Obverse 76 is identified by date placement at RH and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the south below the base and serif of the 1; to the south below the base and to the north within the upper loop and above the top right of the upper loop of the 9; to the southeast below the base, to the southeast within and to the northeast above the top right of the 0; to the north within the lower loop of the 6.  Obverse 76 has developed moderately heavy die flow lines and has acquired a clash mark in front of the forehead from a clashing event with Reverse AAZ.

Reverse AAZ is rotated 5 degrees clockwise and is in a similar die state as Obverse 76, with the advancement of moderately heavy die flow lines.  Reverse AAZ has acquired a clash mark through the C of CENT from a clashing event with Obverse 76.

Comments:  Variety 77 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during mid May 2018 for inclusion in this book based on the Obverse 76 date repunching.
