Repunched 6 |
Obverse 62 is identified by date placement at RE and date repunching
that features initial date impressions to the south below the base of
the 1; to the southeast within the upper loop and south below the base
of the 9; to the north above the top loop of the 6. Obverse 62 has developed light die flow lines.
Reverse AAL is in a similar die state as Obverse 62, with the
advancement of light die flow lines.
Comments: Variety 63 was
first identified by this author during 2006, where the discovery coin
was a VF30 and attributed by Rick Snow and used as the Snow 50 plate
coin. During mid January 2018, David Killough submitted a higher
grade example of Variety 63, which I have elected to use as the plate
coin in lieu of the discovery piece. It should be noted that Rick
missed the initial date impressions to the north above the 6 in my
initial submission to him.
