Mintage:  45,591,500

Comments:  1883 is a high mintage year of the 1880's, with surviving examples widely available.  As always, collector priority should be securing the most attractive, problem free examples.  

Variety 1, 7, and 8 are highly collectible misplaced digit varieties and are all included in the top 100 varieties list.  Variety 6 features a class IV doubled die reverse, which is also included int the top 100 varieties list.  Repunched dates are decidedly in the minority of varieties for 1883.
