Reverse U Die Crack Mapping

Obverse 21 is observed with date placement at RH.  Obverse 21 has acquired a clash mark in front of the eye of Miss Liberty from a clashing event with Reverse U.

Reverse U is identified by class II hub doubling of the horizontal shield bars, wreath veins and outer edges of the outside leaves, ribbon knot, right ribbon end and lower arrowheads.  Reverse U has acquired clash marks through (C)ENT from a clashing event with Obverse 21. Reverse U has developed the following die cracks:
1.  Moderately heavy die crack from the rim at 3:00 downward through the middle and lower arrowheads and into the rim at 4:30.
2.  Light die crack from the denticles at 8:15 upward through the left wreath.

Comments:  Variety 16 may be the second usage of the Obverse 4 / Reverse D die pairing, which was initially in service striking proof cents.  However, I was not successful in finding an example of this proof die pairing to confirm if Reverse D exhibited the degree of hub doubling illustrated above.

Variety 16 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during late August 2019 based on the hub doubling of Reverse U.
