Doubling on Left Side of Wreath

Doubling on Right Side of Wreath

Obverse 11 is observed with date placement at RH.  Obverse 11 develops the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the field through the nose and cheek of Miss LIBERTY.
2.  Die crack below BERTY of LIBERTY.

Reverse K is identified by Class IV & VIII hub doubling between 3:00 and 9:00.

Comments:  The reverse K hub doubling is correctly described as a combinational class of doubled die.  Class IV offset hub doubling occurred while the working hub and/or working die were skew with respect to each other during hubbing.  As a result of the skewed state of working hub and/or working die, the additional class VIII tilted hub doubling is used to describe the nature of the doubled die.  Because of the skewed element inherent within the hubbing of reverse K, no doubling will be visible on the upper half of the reverse.

Rick Snow was very kind in allowing me to use his images to illustrate variety 6 for this book.
