Misplaced 18 Digits |

Misplaced Digit Punch Location |
Obverse 12 is identified by date placement at B and the base of a
misplaced 1 digit within the third and fourth pearls as well as the
base of of an 8 digit between the ribbon end and truncation.
Reverse L is perfect.
Comments: The
misplaced digits of obverse 12 are most likely the result of an
alignment error when the date was impressed into the working die.
As illustrated in the 'Misplaced Digit Punch Location' image,
the initial digit punch impression was at the exact angle as the
primary date with only the initial digit punch impression located too
far northeast.
Rick Snow was very kind in allowing me to use his images to illustrate
variety 7 for this book.
