Reverse K.2 Die Crack Mapping

Obverse 52 is identified by date placement at LH and the tops of three misplaced 8 digits located within the denticles below and to the left of the primary 8 digits of the date.

The second usage of Reverse K.  The Reverse K die cracking is now incrementally more severe along the outer edge of the left wreath.

Comments:  Obverse 52 will later return to service paired with Reverse AAA during the 1888 Variety 53 Die Pairing.  Reverse K was previously in service paired with Obverse 11 duirng the 1888 Variety 8 Die Pairing.

The Obverse 52 misplaced digits are the result of an initial date impression far to the southwest with respect to the final date placement.

The Variety 52 Die Pairing was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during mid May 2021.
