Reverse AAA Die Crack Mapping

The second usage of Obverse 52.  Obverse 52 is identified by date placemnet at LH and the tops of three misplaced 8 digits in the denticles below and to the left of the primary 8 digits of the date.  Obverse 52 develops the following die cracks:
1.  Very light die crack connects the digits of the date.
2.  Light die crack connects the tops of 'UNI(TED)'.

Reverse AAA develops the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack connecting the wreath stem, ribbon end and lowest arrowhead.
2.  Die crack from the rim at 6:30 upward to the ribbon end.
3.  Die crack from the denticles at 8:45 downward through the left wreath to the die crack #2.
4.  Die crack extending at the outer edge of the left side of the left wreath from 8:45 upward to 11:00.
5.  Die crack from the rim at 10:15.

Comments:  Variety 53 represents the second usage of Obverse 52, which was previously in service paired with Reverse K during the 1888 Variety 52 Die Pairing.

The Obverse 52 misplaced digits are the result of an initial date impression far to the southwest with respect to the final date placement.

Plate Coin:  Bob Travis Collection, AU58
