Reverse
K is rotated 7 degrees clockwise and has developed die cracking.
Comments:
Reverse K will later return to service paired with Obverse 52
during the 1888 Variety 52 Die Pairing.
The Reverse K die cracking is light, with the exception of the die crack between 6:00 and 8:00.
The
above plate coin was submitted by David Killough during mid August 2023
for inclusion in this book based on the reverse die cracking.
Upon examination of David's coin, I was able to identify the
reverse as Reverse K with a slightly earlier die state compared to its
subsequent assignment during the 1888 Variety 52 Die Pairing.
