Clash Marks To Right Of Denomination

Obverse 23 is identified by date placement at C and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the south below the base of the 1, within both loops of the 9 and within the 0.  Obverse 23 has developed light to moderately heavy die flow lines and has acquired clash marks between feathers 7, 8 and 9 from a clashing event with Reverse W.

Reverse W is in a similar die state as Obverse 23, with the advancement of light to moderately heavy die flow lines.  Reverse W has acquired clash marks to the right of the denomination from a clashing event with Obverse 23.

Comments:  Obverse 23 had received two initial date impressions prior to the final date placement.  One initial date impression was located slightly to the south, with the impression artifacts located below the base of the 1, within the upper loop and upper section of the lower loop of the 9 and within the upper section of the 0.  The second initial date impression was located far to the south, with the impression artifacts of the tops of the 9 and 0 located at the bottom section of the lower loop of the 9 and lower section within the 0.

The initial date impressions located within the upper loop and upper section of the lower loop of the 9 and within the upper section of the 0 were previously unidentifed prior to publication in this book.
