Clash Mark of Miss Liberty from Obverse 6

Obverse 6 is identified by date placement at LE and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the southeast below the serif and to the right of the stand of the 1, within the upper loop and to the right of the 9 and to the south within the 0.  Obverse 6 has developed very light die flow lines and has acquired clash marks in front of the eye and above the first four feathers from a clashing event with Reverse F.

Reverse F is rotated 6 degrees clockwise.  Reverse F is in a similar die state as Obverse 6, with the advancement of very light die flow lines.  Reverse F has acquired clash marks above (0)NE, to the right of the denomination and through (C)ENT from a clashing event with Obverse 6.

Comments:  The clashing event between Obverse 6 and Reverse F occurred during the 6 degree working die rotation of Variety 4.  The Variety 4 die rotation is static in nature and will be present on all examples produced from this die pairing.

During mid January 2019, David Killough submitted an XF40 example of Variety 4 that exhibited an additional initial date impression within the 0.  Although Obverse 6 features initial date impressions around the 1, 9 and 0 digits, some examples of Variety 4 will not exhibit the initial date impression within the 0.
