Obverse 23 is observed with date placement at B.  Obverse 23 has acquired a clash mark in front of the eye of Miss Liberty from a clashing event with Reverse W and has developed a cud between 8:15 and 9:45.

Reverse W is rotated 5 degrees clockwise.  Reverse W has acquired clash marks through (C)ENT and to the right of the denomination from a clashing event with Obverse 23 and has developed a cud between 11:15 and 12:30.

Comments:  Variety 21 represents the first die pairing discovered with both obverse and reverse developing cuds.  Obverse 23 will exhibit strike weakness of the denticles below the date due to the increased metal demand to fill the recess of the Reverse W break.

The Variety 21 die rotation is a rotational attribute of this die pairing.  As a result, the clashing event between Obverse 23 and Reverse W occurred during this 5 degree rotation.

Variety 21 was first identified by this author during late December 2019.
