Obverse 52 is identified by date placement at RH and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the south below the serif of the 1 as well as to the south within the upper loop and below the left side of the upper loop of the first 8. Obverse 52 has acquired clash marks from a clashing event with Reverse AY and has developed the following die crack:
1.  Light die crack connecting the tops of 'UN(ITED) (ST)ATES'.
Obv. 52.2:  Obverse 52 has developed a die crack from the rim at 4:15 that extends upward through 'AM(ERIC)A'.

Reverse AY is observed with die lines among the vertical shield bars.  Reverse AY has acquired two sets of clash marks through (C)ENT and has developed the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the rim at 3:30 extends downward through the lower oak leaf, middle arrowhead, lower arrowhead and right ribbon end and exits into the rim at 5:15.
2.  Die crack segment extends through the olive leaves.

Comments:   Reverse AY will later return to service paired with Obverse 67 from the 1889 Variety 66 Die Pairing.
