Clash Mark Through The C Of CENT


Obverse 43 is identified by date placement at B and date repunching that features an initial date impression to the north within the lower loop of the 9 and to the south within the upper loop of the 6.  Obverse 43 has developed moderately heavy to heavy die flow lines and has acquired a clash mark in front of the eye of Miss Liberty from a clashing event with Reverse AR.

Reverse AR is in a similar die state as Obverse 43, with the advancement of moderately heavy to heavy die flow lines.  Reverse AR has acquired a clash mark through the C of CENT from a clashing event with Obverse 43.

Comments:  Variety 40 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during late July 2018 for inclusion in this book based on the Obverse 43 date repunching.
