Comments:  Variety 31 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the Variety 31a Plate Coin during late July 2017 for inclusion in this book based on the Obverse 34 date repunching.

During mid July 2019, David Killough submitted an earlier die state example of Variety 31 prior to the development of the heavy die flow lines evident on the 31a Plate Coin.
