Obverse 21 has developed a cud between 5:15 and 7:00.  Obverse 21 has acquired clash marks in front of the eye of Miss Liberty and between feathers 7, 8 and 9 from a clashing event with Reverse V.  Obverse 21 has developed the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack segment connecting the tops of 'A(MER)ICA'.
2.  Die crack from the cud extends through the base of the second 8 and connects the tops of 'AMER(ICA)'.
3.  Die crack connects the tops of 'UNITED STATES'.

Reverse V has acquired clash marks through (C)ENT and to the right of the denomination from a clashing event with Obverse 21.

Comments:  Variety 20 was first identified in 'The Design Cud' by Paul Marvin and Arnold Margolis, with a reference number of IC-1868-1.  The above plate coin is the IC-1868-1 Plate Coin in 'The Design Cud' and the IC-1868-1 Plate Coin in 'The Cud Book' by Sam Thurman and Arnold Margolis.
