Obverse 10 Die Crack Mapping

Date Position

Misplaced 868 Digits

Die Scratch Below Eye

Obverse 10 is identified by date placement at C, misplaced 868 digits in the denticles below the primary digits of the date and a die scratch located below the eye.  Obverse 10 develops the following die crack:
1.  Die crack from the denticles at 4:00 connecting the tops of 'OF AMER'.

Reverse J is yet to be observed with any die markers.

Comments:  The Obverse 10 misplaced digits are most likely the tops of 868 digits from the digit punch that was aligned too far to the south on the working die face.

Rick Snow of Eagle Eye Rare Coins was very kind in allowing me to use his images to illustrate Variety 8 for this book.

Plate coin:  Eagle Eye Rare Coins, PCGS MS64BN (PS)
