Variety 8
Obverse 10 date placement is LE.
Reverse J.2 is observed with a retained cud between 4:30 and 5:30
Rev. J.3:
Full cud has now developed in the area between 4:30 and 5:30.
Comments: Reverse
J was initially in service paired with obverse 11 during the 1859
variety 9 die pairing.
Variety 8 images were kindly furnished by Revick Galstaun of West Coast
Coins.
Variety 8a was
first brought to my attention by a coin listed for sale during early
September 2015 by Richard
Bolanowski. Richard was kind enough to allow me to use his
images
to illustrate variety 8a for this web book.
