The second usage of Obverse 8. Obverse 8 is identified by
date repunching that features an initial date impression to the north above the
flag of the 5. Obverse 8 has acquired additional clash marks
from a clashing event with Reverse AAP.
Reverse AAP is observed with a die chip at the left half of the base of
the CEN(T) and has acquired clash marks from a clashing event with Obverse 8.
Reverse AAP has developed the following die cracks:
1.
Die crack from the rim at 2:00, continuing downward through
the outside edge of the wreath to the ribbon end at 5:00.
2. Die crack from the rim at 4:00 intersects the above die
crack.
3. Die crack from the rim at 8:00 connects to the top olive
leaf.
4. Die crack from the rim at 9:00, continuing to the
northeast through the wreath.
Comments: Variety 67 represents the second usage of Obverse 8, which was previously in service paired with Reverse I during
the 1905 Variety 8 Die Pairing.
