Obverse 28 is identified by date placement at RE and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the south below the base of the 1 digit and to the north within the upper loop of the 9 digit as well as within the 0 digit.

Reverse AA is identified by die rust located on the lower left side of (O)NE, upper left side and left side of the top stroke of (C)ENT and on the left edge of the left arm and left side of the stand of CEN(T).  Reverse AA has acquired clash marks presumably from a clashing event with Obverse 28.

Comments:  Variety 26 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during mid August 2023 for inclusion in this book based on the date repunching of Obverse 28.

Plate Coin:  David Killough Collection, MS63RB
