Obverse 31 is identified by date placement at LH and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the south below the serif of the 1 digit, to the south below the base of the 9 digit, to the southwest within and to the west of the bottom left side of the first 0 digit and to the west of the bottom left side of second 0 digit.
Obv. 31.2:  Obverse 31 has acquired an artifact located at the bridge of the nose in front of the eye and two file marks extending from the upper section of the first feather.

Reverse AE has yet to be observed with any die markers.

Comments:   The Obverse 31 date repunching was previously unidentified pror to publication in this book.

During mid August 2023, David Killough submitted a 1900 cent with similar date repunching compared to Obverse 31, but without the artifact located at the bridge of the nose and the die file marks from the first feather.  Upon examination of David's coin, I was able to confirm that his example was struck from an earlier die state of the Variety 28 Die Pairing.  As a result of Obverse 31 being identified without the artifact at the bridge of the nose, the speculation that the artifact was the result of a digit punch impression is now much less likely.
