Obverse 4 is identified by date placement at B with date repunching that features an initial date impression to the northeast above the last 0.  Obverse 4 has acquired clash marks in front of the face of Miss Liberty and above the feathers from a clashing event with Reverse D.
Obv. 4.2:  Obverse 4 has developed heavier die flow lines and has clashed once again with Reverse D, now yielding stronger clash marks and more clashing elements located above feathers 3 and 4.

Reverse D is rotated 11 degrees clockwise, is observed with die lines within the vertical shield bars and has acquired clash marks through (C)ENT and to the right of the denomination from a clashing event with Obverse 4.
Rev. D.2:  Reverse D has developed heavier die flow lines and has clashed once again with Obverse 4,  now yielding stronger clash marks and more clashing elements located to the right of the denomination.  Reverse D has developed the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack within the ribbon knot.
2.  Radial die crack from the rim at 7:00 extends upward through the arrow quill and olive leaf above.
Rev. D.3:  Reverse D is rotated 10 degrees clockwise and the die crack from 7:00 has become incrementally more severe.

Comments:  Variety 1 has experienced three clashing events thus far, with the latest Variety 1a clashing event incrementally stronger than the previous two.

During early December 2022, David Killough submitted the 1900 Variety 1b Plate Coin illustrated below.  The Reverse D die crack from 7:00 on David's example has become incrementally more severe compared to the previous Reverse D.2 Die State.
