Reverse F.2 Die Crack Mapping

Obverse 6 is identified by date placement at B and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the east of the upper section of the 1 digit; to the east within both loops and to the east of the lower right side of the lower loop of the 8 digit; to the east within both loops and to the east of the lower right side of the first 9 digit; To The east within both loops of the second 9 digit. Obverse 6 is observed with die lines through '(UN)ITED' and 'STA(TES)'. Obverse 6 has developed rim breakage between 8:15 and 9:45.
Obv. 6.2: The Obverse 6 die flow lines have become incrementally more severe.

Reverse F is observed with die lines among the vertical shield bars and to the left of the ribbon bow. Reverse F has developed the following die cracks:
1. Radial die crack from the rim at 5:30 extends upward into the right side of the base of the ribbon knot.
2. Radial die crack from the rim at 6:45 extends upward into the arrow quill.
Rev. F.2: The Reverse F die flow lines have become incrementally more severe and Reverse F has developed the following additional die crack:
3. Radial die crack from the rim at 2:00 extends diagonally downward into the right wreath.

Comments: The 1899 Variety 1a Plate Coin, which is located below, was submitted by David Killough during mid August 2023 and represents the latest die state yet identified of the Variety 1 Die Pairing.
