Obverse 30 is identified by date placement at LH and date repunching
that features initial date impressions to the east within the lower
loop of the 8 and within both loops of the 9. Obverse 30 has
developed heavy die flow lines.
Reverse AD is in a similar die state as Obverse 30, with the
advancement of heavy die flow lines. Reverse AD has developed the
following die cracks:
1. Die crack from the rim at 3:30 downward into the right wreath.
2. Die crack from the rim at 8:15 downward through the last oak leaf and into the olive leaves.
Comments:
Variety 28 was first identified
by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during mid
January 2018 for inclusion in this book based on the Obverse 30 date
