Reverse C

Obverse Diagnostics

Date Position

Repunched 1 to the North

Repunched 97 to the Southwest

Clash Mark in Front of Portrait

Obverse 3 is identified by repunching to the north at the top of the 1 and repunching to the southwest at the bases of the 97.  Obverse 3 has acquired a clash mark in front of the portrait.

Reverse C is yet to be observed with any die markers.

Comments:  Variety 1 was first discovered by this author during mid June 2015.  Close examination reveals more than one repunching above the flag of the 1.  The most likely reason for the repunching would have been that the initial date impression was sloped too sharply downward with the 7 digit close to the denticles, although the placement of the 7 digit is still vey close to the denticles during the final date impression.

Plate Coin:  XF45
