Obverse
8 is identified by date placement at RH, die lines in the lower loop of
the 9, die line above the last two pearls of the necklace and date
repunching that features initial date impressions to the west within
both loops of the 6. Obverse 8 is observed with die polish lines
from the bottom of the ribbon downward into the 8 and 9 of the date as
well as light die flow lines. Obverse 8 has developed the
following die crack: 1. Die crack from the denticles at 7:00.
Reverse H is rotated 6 degrees clockwise and is in a similar die state
as Obverse 8, with the advancement of light die flow lines.
Reverse H is observed with light die file marks from the
denticles to the right of the shield.
Comments:
I suspect that the Obverse 8 die crack will extend through the
middle of the 1, 8 and 9 digits of the date and will eventually create
a small break below the upper loop of the 9. It should be noted
that the near horizontal line within the lower loop of the 9 may
actually be a section of the die crack from 7:00.
