Obverse 6 is identified by date placement at B with date repunching that features two sets of initial date impressions to the east within the lower loops of the 895 and to the east between the flag and upper loop of the 5.  Obverse 6 has acquired two sets of clash marks in front of the eye of Miss Liberty from clashing events with Reverse E and has developed light die flow lines.
Obv. 6.2:  Obverse 6 has developed heavily flow lined surfaces and rim breakage between 9:30 and 11:30.

Reverse E has acquired two sets of clash marks through (C)ENT and a clash mark to the right of the denomination from clashing events with Obverse 6.  Reverse E is in a similar die state as Obverse 6, with the advancement of light die flow lines.
Rev. E.2:  Reverse E has developed heavily flow lined surfaces and rim breakage between 6:15 and 7:00.

Comments:  In regard to the two die clash events between Obverse 6 and Reverse E, a working die misalignment was most likely evident during the clashing events.

The first set of the two initial date impressions within the lower loops of the 895 are minor and tight to the digits, whereas the second set of initial date impressions are extremely wide in comparison.  As a result of the wide spread of the second set of initial date impressins, Variety 1 is included in the top 100 indian cent varieties.

Variety 1a was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the Variety 1a Plate Coin below during mid August 2023.  The Variety 1a Die State represents the latest die state of the Variety 1 Die Pairing yet identified.
