Obverse 3 is identified by date placement at LH and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the north and to the west within the upper loop of the 3 digit.  Obverse 3 is observed with die lines that span the entire field area and artifacts among the denticles below the date.

Reverse C is rotated 7 degrees clockwise and is observed with artifacts among the vertical shield bars.

Comments:  Variety 1 was first identifed by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during July 2016 for inclusion within this book based on the date repunching of Obverse 3.

Close examination of Obverse 3 reveals two separate initial date impressions within the upper loop of the 3 digit.
