Obverse 65 is observed with date placement at LE and a die line that extends through the bust point as well as through the serif and left base of the 1 digit.  Obverse 65 has acquired a prominent clash mark in front of the eye of Miss Liberty and has developed rim breakage between 5:00 and 9:15.

Reverse AAL is observed with a light die line from the right side of O(N)E that extends diagonally downward through the right side of CE(N)T and continues into the upper arrow shaft.  Reverse AAL has developed the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the rim at 4:45 extends upward through the lower and middle arrowheads and continues through the lower oak leaves of the right wreath.
2.  Die crack from the rim at 8:15 extends downward through the olive leaves.  A light die crack extends from this die crack at the upper olive leaf and continues upward through the left wreath.

Comments:   Obverse 65 acquired the prominent clash mark while in service prior to its usage during the Variety 64 Die Pairing.

Reverse AAL cracks in a similar location and manner as several 1889 reverses.

Variety 64 was first identified by Walter Seiller, who submitted the above plate coin during mid December 2022 for inclusion in this book based on the Obverse 65 clash mark.
