Reverse E.3 Die Crack Mapping

Obverse 5 is identified by date placement at LE, a die line within the upper loop of the 3rd 8, the serif of a misplaced 1 digit extending from the first pearl and date repunching that features initial date impressions within the upper loops of the 1st and 2nd 8, as well as a light initial date impression from the lower left side of upper loop of the 3rd 8.  Obverse 5 has acquired clash marks.
Obv. 5.2:  Obverse 5 has developed a die chip located at the center of the right side of the third 8.

Reverse E is rotated 2 degrees counter clockwise and has acquired clash marks.
Rev. E.2:  Reverse E has developed the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the rim at 7:15 extends upward through the left wreath.
2.  Light die crack from the rim at 10:00 extends upward through the outer edge of the left wreath.
Rev. E.2a:  Reverse E is now rotated 8 degrees clockwise.
Rev. E.3:  Reverse E is now rotated 3 degrees counter clockwise and has developed the following additional die crack:
3.  Light die crack from the rim at 6:00 extends upward through the tip of the left ribbon end and arrow quill.

Comments:  The Variety 5ab Die State is interesting, since Variety 5 experienced a greater degree of die rotation compared to the negligible die rotation evident of the previous and subsequent die states.

During early July 2022, David Killough identified an example of Variety 5 that features Reverse E in its latest die state and is illustrated below as the Variety 5b Plate Coin.
