Retained Cud between 7:00 and 8:30

Die Crack from Northern End of Retained Cud


Obverse 18 is observed with date placement at approximately C.

Reverse X develops a retained cud between 7:00 and 8:30 and the following die crack:
1.  Die crack from the northern section of the retained cud continuing upward through the outer edge of the wreath.

Comments:  Variety 18 was first brought to my attention by the above plate coin listed for sale on Ebay during mid March 2017 by a seller who declined to take credit for neither the images I have used from his listing nor the discovery of the die pairing.  However, the seller did indicate that he purchased the coin approximately 10 years prior in Ephrata, PA in a 50� per coin indian cent tub.
