Type II Obverse 17 is observed with date placement at RH and has
developed die cracking.
Reverse AE has has developed severe die cracking between 8:45 and 10:45.
Comments:
The above plate coin represents the latest die state of
Reverse AE yet identified. There exist a few certified mint
state examples of Variety 14 that exhibit less severe cracking of
Reverse AE, with a couple of these examples grading MS66RD and MS65RD.
Variety 14 was first identified by this author during late December
2023.
