Reverse AC Die Crack Mapping

Type II Obverse 15 is observed with date placement at C and die roughness near the field areas by the rim as well as die roughness near the mouth, under the jaw and neck of Miss Liberty. Obverse 15 also exhibits outlines at the base of the portrait. Obverse 15 has developed rim breaks between 10:30 and 1:30.
Type II Obverse 15.2: During this die state, Obverse 15 has developed additional die roughness near the nose and forehead of Miss Liberty. In addition, outlines are now evident at the tops of the first three feathers and an artifact has appeared by the lower hair curl.

Reverse AC is observed with a S-shaped artifact within the field at 5:45. Reverse AC has developed a die crack from the rim at 7:30 that extends along the lower edge of the middle olive leaf and continues into the lower olive leaf.

Comments: I suspect the die roughness of Obverse 15 is the result of excessive die buffing. The additional die roughness from the Obverse 15.2 Die State is most likely the result of subsequent buffing of Obverse 15 at the northwest quadrant.

The Reverse AC S-shpaed artifact is either the result of a gouge to the working die or a hub-through.
