Die Line Through (CE)NT

Obverse 9 is identified by date placement at C and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the north within the lower loop of the second 8 and to the north within the lower loop and above the lower loop of the 5.

Reverse I is rotated 7 degrees clockwise and is observed a prominent die line that extends diagonally upward from the lower left wreath and extends through (CE)NT.

Comments:  Variety 5 appears to be a scarce die pairing.

During mid February 2021, Paul Nomes submitted the above plate coin as an upgrade to the VF20 example that was previously plated.  Paul's coin represents the highest grade example of Variety 5 yet seen by this author.
