Obverse 26 is observed with date placement at RE.

Reverse AA has developed the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the rim at 5:00 extends upward through the right ribbon end, lower and middle arrowheads and the outer edge of the lower oak leaves, where it exits into the rim at 3:00.
2.  Light die crack from the denticles at 7:45 extends along the lower edge of the middle olive leaf and into the lowest olive leaf.
3.  Light die crack from the denticles at 11:30 extends downward into the upper left side of the shield.

Comments:  Reverse AA cracks relatively early as both Obverse 26 and Reverse AA exhibit early die states.  The Reverse AA die cracks are minor in regard to severity, with the exception of the primary die crack between 3:00 and 5:00.

Variety 23 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during early December 2022 for inclusion in this book based on the die cracking of Reverse AA.
