Partial Cud (Click Image To Enlarge)

Obverse 22 is observed with date placement at RH.

Reverse W has developed a partial cud between 6:30 and 8:30.

Comments:  Variety 22 was first identified in Frank Leones's reference 'Sam Thurman's Cud Collection' and cross referencing the above plate coin as IC-1869-1R in both 'The Design Cud' by Paul Marvin and Arnold Margolis and 'The Cud Book' by Sam Thurman and Arnold Margolis.  However, the above plate coin was not struck from the working dies that struck IC-1869-1R.

Although described in Frank Leone's reference as a retained cud, I suspect the Reverse W section between 6:30 and 8:30 has not completely separated from the working die body and should be described as a partial cud.
