Reverse AS.2 Cud Between 8:45 and 10:00

Obverse 41 is observed with date placement at RE and repaired top of E of STATES.  Obverse 41 exhibits strike weakness at 8:30 due to the increased demand for metal to fill the void created by the Reverse AS die break.

Reverse AS is rotated 11 degrees clockwise and develops a large retained cud between 8:45 and 10:00.  Reverse AS develops the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack Within the right wreath between 1:15 and 2:15.
2.  Die crack from the rim at 8:00 into the olive leaves.
3.  Die crack from the bottom of the retained cud downward through the left wreath.
4.  Die crack from the upper right of the retained cud upward through the left wreath.
Rev. AS.2:  The retained portion of die steel from the die break between 8:45 and 10:00 is now absent, resulting in a full cud.

Comments:  Variety 43 was first identified by this author during mid November 2018.

The Reverse AS.2 cud was initially identified in the book 'The Design Cud' by Paul Marvin and Arnold Margolis.  The Marvin & Margolis reference number is 1C-1863-9R.

Variety 43a was first brought to my attention by a coin listed for sale during early October 2015 by Ebay member flnyeagle.  Flnyeagle was very kind in allowing me to use their images to illustrate Variety 43a for this web book.
