Obverse Diagnostics

Date Position

Repunched 8 to the South, Nonrepunching on 63

Die Chip Between TA of STATES

Reverse Diagnostics

Rim Break Between 2:00 and 2:45

Obverse 33 has now developed die flow lines which have diminished the size of the die chip between TA of STATES.  Repunching to the south on the 8 is still visible, whereas the repunching on 3 has faded due to the advancement of the die flow lines.  The rim break below the date is visible, but not sharp most likely due to wear.

Reverse AJ is rotated 9 degrees counter clockwise.  Reverse AJ is observed with continuus rim breaks, with a large one between 2:00 and 2:45.

Comments:  Obverse 33 was initially in service during variety 33.

Both obverse and reverse of variety 34 were struck with slightly misaligned dies.

Plate Coin: Craig McClain, AU50
