Severe Die Crack (Click Image To Enlarge)

Obverse 9 is observed with date placement at B.

Reverse I is rotated 5 degrees counter clockwise and has developed the following die crack:
1.  Severe die crack from the rim at 1:00 extends downward along the outer edge of the right wreath and exits into the rim at 2:15.

Comments:  The development of severe die cracks that extend from rim to rim generally portend a future die break within the area defined by the die crack.  Therefore, I suspect that Reverse I may develop a break between 1:00 and 2:15 during a subsequent Reverse I die state.

Variety 6 was first identified by Walter Seiller, who submitted the above plate coin during late January 2023 for inclusion in this book based on the severe die crack of Reverse I.
