Obverse 41 is identified by date placement at RE, localized die rust above the ribbon and date repunching that features an initial date impression to the south below the serif of the 1.  Obverse 41 has acquired clash marks between feathers 7-9 and above the third feather from a clashing event with Reverse AO.

Reverse AO has developed clash marks to the right of the denomination from a clashing event with Obverse 41.

Comments:  The Obverse 41 die rust is an interesting attribute of Obverse 41, as the rust is severe yet localized only in the area above the ribbon.

Variety 39 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during mid May 2018 for inclusion in this book based on the Obverse 41 die rust and date repunching.
