Die Crack From 7:30

Obverse 38 is identified by date placement at B, die artifact to the right of the 1 and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the north within the upper loop of the 9 and to the north within the 0.

Reverse AL develops the following die crack:
1.  Light die crack from the denticles at 7:30 into the olive leaves.

Comments:  The Obverse 38 initial date impressions are very minor, especially the initial date impression within the 0.  However, the die artifact beside the 1 is an interesting attribute of Obverse 38.  This die artifact is most likely the result of a chip on the working die.

Variety 36 was identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during late July 2017 for inclusion in this book based on the Obverse 38 date repunching and working die artifact.

Plate Coin:  David Killough Collection, XF45 (Snow 18 Plate Coin)
