Reverse AAF Die Crack Mapping

Obverse 56 is identified by date placement at B and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the north above the flag and top, as well as to the east of the top of the 1; to the south within the upper loop, to the north within the lower loop and within the crotch of the 9; to the south and north within and to the east of the top right of the 0; to the south below the flag and to the north within the lower loop of the 5.

Reverse AAF is rotated 4 degrees clockwise and has developed the following die crack:
1.  Die crack from the rim at 7:15 upward through the olive leaves to the ribbon knot.

Comments:  Obverse 56 has received two separate initial date impressions prior to the final date placement.  The first initial date impression included a clockwise rotation with respect to the final date placement, whilst the second initial date impression was positioned to the east with respect to the final date placement.

Variety 57 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during mid May 2020 for inclusion in this book based on the date repunching of Obverse 56.
