Obverse 62 is observed with date placement at LH and has developed heavy die flow lines.

Reverse AAI is in a similar die state as Obverse 62, with the advancement of heavy die flow lines.  Reverse AAI has developed the following die crack:
1.  Moderately heavy die crack from the rim at 6:15 upward through the left wreath to the rim at 8:45.

Comments:   Several 1889 reverses crack in a similar location as the Reverse AAI die crack.  Since recognizing the specific die crack patterns is necessary for accurate attribution, I have included macro photograpy of the Reverse AAI die crack as well as the associated die crack mapping.

Variety 61 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during late August 2019 for inclusion in this book based on the die crack of Reverse AAI.
