Clash Mark Through The C Of CENT

Obverse 57 is observed with date placement at LE.  Obverse 57 has developed moderately heavy to heavy die flow lines and has acquired a clash mark in front of the eye of Miss Liberty from a clashing event with Reverse AAD.

Reverse AAD is in a similar die state as Obverse 57, with the advancement of moderately heavy to heavy die flow lines.  Reverse AAD has acquired a clash mark through the C of CENT from a clashing event with Obverse 57 and has developed the following die crack:
1.  Moderately heavy die crack from the rim at 3:15 downward through the wreath to the rim at 5:00.

Comments:   Several 1889 reverses crack in a similar location as the Reverse AAD die crack.  Since recognizing the specific die crack patterns is necessary for accurate attribution, I have included macro photograpy of the Reverse AAD die crack as well as the associated die crack mapping.

Variety 56 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during mid November 2018 for inclusion in this book based on the Reverse AAD die crack.
