Obverse 14 is identified by date placement at RE and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the south below the serif of the 1; to the south within the upper loop, to the south below the left side of the upper loop and to the south within the lower loop of the 1st 8; to the south within the upper loop of the 2nd 8.

Reverse N is observed with a pair of die polish lines, with one located to the left of O(N)E and the other located to the left of C(E)NT.

Comments:   Variety 12 is plagued with debris filling the recesses of Obverse 14 during production, which has resulted in weak digits of the date and areas within the legend.  As a result, some of the initial date impressions may not be visible, as is the case with the above plate coin.  Due to the weakness of the date area of the above plate coin, I have taken the liberty of using the Snow 9 Plate Coin date area from Rick Snow's 2nd edition of his attribution guide in order to illustrate the Obverse 14 date repunching more clearly.
