Obverse
17 is identified by repunching to the north on the 1, with date
placement at RE. Obverse 17 has developed clash marks in front of
the eye and between feathers 6, 7 and 8. Obverse 17 has developed
the following die crack:
1. Light die crack connecting the bases of the 186 of the date.
Reverse
AN is rotated 8 degrees counter clockwise. Reverse AN has
developed clash marks to the right of the denomination and through the
C of CENT. Reverse AN has developed the following die crack:
1. Die Crack from the rim at 9:30 into the wreath.
Comments: Variety
16 was first discovered by this author during early October 2011.
The clash marks of variety 16 are a result of a clashing event
between obverse 17 and reverse AN, during a working die rotation of 8
degrees.
