Obverse 33 is identified by date placement at C, broken flag tip of 5 and die rust located within the feathers and next to the nose of Miss Liberty.

Reverse AAF is rotated 10 degrees counter clockwise and has developed die subsidence that extends from the rim at 5:00, upward through the wreath and to the base of CEN(T). Reverse AAF has developed a rim break between 12:15 and 1:00.
Rev. AAF.2: Reverse AAF has developed a second rim break between 11:00 and 11:45.
Rev. AAF.3: Reverse AAF has developed a third rim break between 11:45 and 12:15.

Comments: Reverse AAF will later be in service paired with Obverse 34 during the 1865 Fancy 5 Variety 38 Die Pairing.

Obverse 33 exhibits a size difference of the denticles primarily below the 18 of the date, with the Variety 37 denticles thinner compared to the broader denticles of Variety 37a. I cannot readily explain the difference in denticle size in the area below the 1 and 8 of the date and the only difference between Obverse 33 during Variety 37 and 37a is that Obverse 33 experienced a working die misalignment while the denticles were thinner.
